Overview
Situated on the floodplains of the mighty Brahmaputra River in Assam, Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an incredible conservation success story. The park holds two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Beyond the rhinos, its vast expanses of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense broadleaf forests are teeming with wild water buffalo, swamp deer, elephants, and one of the highest densities of tigers in India. It is a true haven for wildlife photographers and nature lovers.
November to April. The park remains closed from May to October due to the heavy monsoon floods from the Brahmaputra.
